In depth

Verdict

A maximum turnout, but a moderate contest to end the day with and it may pay to stick with something that comes here in half-decent form, which brings the likes of Ice Cracker, Borrego and I'm Magic into the equation, with the latter getting the nod. Richard Hannon's filly wasn't winning out of turn when scoring at Brighton, and now that she has finally got her head in front she could well go on from that. Raised 4lbs for getting beaten last time, Ice Cracker would appear to have plenty to do, but she will have the assistance of the champion jockey and is respected. Borrego, 6lbs higher than when successful at Haydock, looks to have been given a fine chance to follow up. He, along with the runner-up puled some way clear of the third and is clearly on the upgrade. Of the others, Woodland Spirit may be capable of improvement in the first-time blinkers, but I'm Magic is a filly in-form and they are usually worth following at this time of year.
