In depth

Verdict

Edward Lynam will be delighted to find Seamie Heffernan on board SPARRING PARTNER in this jockeys' challenge race and his mount, who has been improving on Polytrack despite his age, looks set to gain his first success on turf. Paul Carberry has the ride on One For Joules, who has been going well over timber and won over the C&D on soft ground on his last start on the level. Galakina is getting close to losing her maiden tag though a slightly longer trip may be required, a remark that also applies to winning chaser Second Glance. Boulay has been running well enough to consider and she'll get a strong ride from Davy Russell.
