Verdict

It's safe to assume that there are no stable stars on view in this opener and LADY CAPTAIN makes the most appeal despite being in the situation of having had more chances than most. Kevin Ryan's filly probably ran into a rival that was better than plating class at Leicester, and a similar performance should suffice. Patisserie failed to build upon the promise of her debut at Thirsk and is surely better than her recent effort at Catterick would indicate. Elsie Bond has been quickly dropped in grade and is tried in blinkers having failed to trouble the judge in a Doncaster maiden. Stablemate Barleycorn finished ahead of a couple of these rivals when previously tried in selling company here and he should appreciate a step back up to six furlongs.
