Verdict

Course and distance winner Muffin McLeay is now down to a workable mark for David Barron to exploit but a leap of faith is required to support the top weight after three disappointing runs this term. Ardmay was also rather below par last time after looking to have found some form but cannot be ruled out whilst the ex-John Oxx maiden, Shouranour, almost certainly will have more to offer for David O'Meara. Maybeme is not only in the best current form of the quintet but receives weight all round and has trip and ground to suit so must go well but DOLPHIN ROCK showed much more last time and shades the vote. He was much more like his old self when under four lengths behind Las Verglas Star in a well-contested Chester handicap and will be a leading player if in the same form off an unchanged mark.
