Ruth Carr trained last year's winner and has strong claims of landing this renewal. Mutafaakir won at Leicester before going close once again at Doncaster last week. He should be in the mix, but stablemate HADAJ is just preferred. The latter is dropped in class after a good effort in Class 2 company at Newmarket and Kevin Stott's 5lb claim further helps his cause. Angus Og is best over 5f but Green Howard has a chance on his narrow-margin defeat in the Ayr Bronze Cup. Ambitious Icarus showed progressive form last season and the handicapper may not have got hold of him just yet while Willbeme went close over 5f here on her reappearance.
