Verdict

A J Cook only won a maiden handicap at Redcar by a nose last month and David Barron may have a better chance of landing the spoils in this opener with NEXT DOOR. The drop back to 6f will suit the latter judged by the way he folded tamely over 7f when favourite at Yarmouth last time. He's preferred to the potentially well-treated Abraham Monro, who has a good draw, and unexposed pair Bapak Pesta and Perfect Pasture. Rose of May disappointed at Southwell last time but may do better back on Turf.
