    Verdict

Tha'Ir cost 105,000 euros and is a half-brother to five winners but didn't exactly distinguish himself in the preliminaries on his racecourse debut here last month though he showed promise in the race itself. Godolphin are also represented by Bircham and this first foal of a French 7f winner will be fancied to make a winning start under Silvestre De Sousa. Mushaakis is owned by Hamdan Al Maktoum and the Shamardal colt is out of a 7f winner while other interesting newcomers are the fillies Flighty Clarets, who is out of the seven-times winner Flying Clarets, and SPECIALITY. The latter gets the vote as she is out of Speciosa, who Pam Sly trained to land the 1000 Guineas in 2006 and who started her career in this race the previous year.
