Verdict

Mason Hindmarsh is the only course and distance winner in the line-up and he's a pound lower than when successful last May, though he was behind Jan Smuts over the trip at Newcastle last time and isn't much better off. The winner is inconsistent and was beaten a long way here on his previous start with Choisan well in front of him. The latter looks handicapped to the hilt and it will be a surprise if he can concede weight to RUMBLE OF THUNDER, who has been in superb form over hurdles this year with a recent victory at Aintree the highlight. He reverts to the Flat on a mark of 71 and will think he's been let loose. Rayadour has been equally impressive over timber though his recent hat-trick has come in lesser grades. He's gone up 27lb over hurdles since February so he's another looking very well in back on the level. Miss Macnamara has won two minor handicaps at Catterick in comfortable fashion but takes on stronger company here and has a 6lb rise to contend with.
