    Verdict

A tight little handicap. Marhaba Malayeen has only gone up 4lb for his Beverley success and Chevalgris came with a late swoop to score over 1m1f at Hamilton so the longer trip will suit. Buckstay found 1m4f beyond him at York but was there with a chance at this trip while Grandorio was battling on over a mile at Doncaster after going up 5f for his Newcastle success. Legal Waves hasn't done much wrong despite recent defeats when a short-priced favourite and doesn't look too badly weighted for his handicap debut but it's MAPUTO who gets the vote. He won a Hamiliton maiden in impressive style and a Group 3 entry next month suggests he's well regarded.
