Verdict

In a race that sees a number of interesting fillies introduced to the track, we will side with Umniya, but watch the betting with regard to a number of the others, including Canary Dancer, Taras Treasure, Underthemistletoe and Three Pennies. Even though trainer Mick Channon's juveniles have suffered a couple of reverses recently, Umniya, who hails from a family blessed with speed, has shown up very well in both starts to date, including when third over today's trip at York. She looked to be improving there and showed enough to be given as the selection today. Turning to the others. Tagula Bay showed plenty of promise on her debut on heavy at Beverley and is entitled to come on for that run. Canary Dancer is from a good family, Dorn Dancer is related to a number of winners, Falcon Goer also has plenty to like on breeding, along with Missperon, who could go well. Others of interest are the John Quinn-trained Taras Treasure, who cost 48,000 euros, and Underthemistletoe, a half-sister to the fast winning juvenile Signor Panettiere. Three Pennies cost 25,000 guineas and is related to the useful Carvery, so watch the betting with her, as indeed for most of the newcomers. It could be, though, that track form will come to the fore, in which case the vote goes to Umniya.
