    Verdict

Sudden Impulse looks the best bet in a competitive but distinctly moderate contest and gets the vote ahead of Best Port and Hugs Destiny. Not for the first time, the last mentioned flattered to deceive at Carlisle last time and just one career success tells its own story. Master Nimbus an better at Newcastle last time and has claims if able to reproduce that form but there is no guarantee of that, while Sun King has been running well over hurdles but his recent flat form leaves something to be desired. A market move for Vice Admiral would be of interest although more solid claims are held by Best Port, who has every chance on the form of his latest course and distance effort. The form of Sudden Impulse is marginally better though and he gets the nod in a trappy affair.
