Verdict

Another potential minefield for backers with improvement expected from several in the line-up; Ethics Girl ran well in defeat last time however AMAZING BLUE SKY represents a yard on fire and the gelding is preferred. Likely to be a big price, the selection only has one win to his name from 15 starts. However that success may be repeated here as he can race off a 5lb lower mark today than his latest defeat and with a flat track in his favour he is preferred. Blinkers are tried on Flynn's Island and they will need to have quite a major effect, whilst Antipodean and Feeling Stylish have recent bits of form that could see them go close. Ethics Girl was second last time to Off Chance at Carlisle and she should run well here although she seemed to be staying on well at the testing North-West track and this quicker course will pose some more problems. Handicap debutants Acclaim To Fame, Laminka and Napoletano need to be watched for market support, as does The Last Alzao who could improve markedly for this quicker ground. Miss Gibboa represents a trainer in good form and the drop in trip may bring about some improvement; she should be reaching her peak after two runs this season and it would be no surprise to see her run well. One of the hardest races on the card and we will rather reluctantly plump for top-weight Amazing Blue Sky.
