SPIRIT OR SOUL stayed on at just the one pace to finish fourth in soft going at Nottingham on his return. But he'll have come on for that and Marco Botti's colt is fancied to make a winning handicap debut ahead of Southwell maiden winner Deep Resolve. The latter is preferred to Innocent Touch, well beaten on his only start so far in testing ground, but Barleycorn Lady is another handicap debutante to consider on last month's victory at Newcastle. Aldreth showed a bit more when well backed at Wolverhampton on his reappearance and makes most appeal of the rest.
