Verdict

Imperial Commander is the clear form pick on his Ryanair Chase beating of subsequent Aintree winner Voy Por Ustedes, but there are serious concerns about him going right-handed at this trip on testing ground. Air Force One won at this meeting last year but that was also on fast ground while Roll Along is another British raider who may struggle in the conditions. This is best left to the home contingent then with NOTRE PERE preferred to Scotsirish. Jim Dreaper's horse chased home Neptune Collonges, a dual winner of this race, in the Hennessy at Leopardstown last time and that performance gives him solid claims here. The Welsh National winner will have no problems with the surface either. Scotsirish goes well in soft ground and could be an improver at the trip for top connections at an each-way price.
