Verdict

Amy Weaver's Rare Malt has finished unplaced in both starts this term and looks best left out of calculations on recent form with a safer option looking to be ABU DUBAI, who gets the vote with Tomintoul Star rated the best of the rest. The selection just held on when successful over course and distance recently and does have a 6lb penalty to carry for that win but Jeremy Glover's filly has improved with each start this term and will be tough to beat with more improvement anticipated. Silly Gilly was good value for his win at Thirsk last time over seven furlongs but he is better over that trip than a mile and may not be able to reproduce the form over the longer trip today. Any market support for Nurai would be of interest but a bigger threat is likely to come from Ruth Carr's Tomintoul Star, who has been running well on the Polytrack and Fibresand of late and would have every chance if able to show a similar level of form on turf. Abu Dubai may be open to further improvement though and gets the vote to follow up his recent course and distance success.
