Verdict

Arnold Lane's defection has depleted further what was already a disappointing turnout for a race that often proves informative. Betty Fontaine was also engaged at Windsor yesterday which means that Mick Channon, responsible for three of the four entries, must be confident of the chances of PRINCESS BANU. She is more exposed than Alan McCabe's Sans Loi but has been keeping decent company and her latest fifth in the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom was another sound effort.
