Verdict

ARTISTIC LICENSE can land this trappy event at the main expense of Angus Newz and Russian Spirit. The selection was a winner at Goodwood last month in a race that worked out well, and she built on that with a good effort when chasing home Filligree at Bath. She likes to challenge fast and late so this track should suit her style of racing and she looks to have a big chance. Russian Spirit hails from the yard that won this race last year and she put in a decent effort on her handicap debut at Doncaster last time. She is creeping up the weigths but there should be more to come and she has to be respected. Catalan Bay could find this company a little too hot to handle, while Angus Newz could be of interest if she takes her chance here, although she did have an engagement at Yarmouth on Tuesday. She likes to make the running so she will need to break smartly to lead from stall 5. However, her presence could set the race up for our selection Artistic License.
