Verdict

Most of these enter the fray in really good heart. Ten times winner Hotham is back on a lowly mark and found only Saucy Brown too good at York a week ago. Magical Macey also ran well on the Knavesmire last time and has won from a higher mark in the past but Albany Rose has been given an astonishing 27lb extra for her recent hat-trick and looks in the grip of the handicapper. Master Rooney hasn't had much racing for his age and is just 4lb higher than when making all at Beverley where Noodles Blue Boy was a close third. Secret Asset is dropping to a winnable mark and Duchess Dora bounced back to form at Chester when Whozthecat was behind. FAVOURITE GIRL was in tremendous form at this time last year, completing a mid-summer hat-trick. She led for much of the way over 6f here last month and looks ready to regain the winning thread.
