      In depth

      Verdict

Soto is a tough performer on his day and is fancied to easily cope with his 4lb higher mark than for his all the way win at Newcastle last time, the talented but frustrating Sir Orpen, Lucksin and Charles Parnell are fancied to pose the biggest dangers along the way. Charles Parnell just had the edge over Lucksin the last time they met at Redcar and will do well to reverse the form on these terms. Both are respected but a shade of improvement is required. Sir Orpen has the ability to play a strong hand in a contest like this and will be dangerous to underestimate. He does, however, need to run to the best of his ability and no quarter measures will do. Especially if Soto has thrived since his last outing. Mick Easterby's charge is a speedy enough sort to make life difficult for his rivals and he is will take plenty of pegging back now that his confidence is on a high.
