In depth

Verdict

ARCTIC FREEDON can land the finale at the main expense of Miss Sophisticat and Zouk. The selection was only narrowly beaten on her handicap debut when she finished fourth behind Cavendish Road at Brighton. She got going too late over 7f that day so this extra furlong should play to her strengths and she can gain her compensation today. Miss Sophisticat has not had much joy since being upped in trip so the return to a mile could see her in a better light today. Zouk is making his handicap debut but he shapes as though he might benefit from a slight drop in trip. Michael Dods has his string in good form so Hey Up Dad is worth considering. The blinkers failed to have the desired impact last time and they are replaced today by a tongue-tie and cheekpieces. Hilltop Artistry could prove best of the others, but Arctic Freedom was an eyecatcher last time and she can get her head in front.
