Verdict

A visor on Dean Iarracht may bring about some improvement however the feeling is that PLAY IT SAM can win again at the main expense of Battle Royal. Walter Swinburn's son of Bahamian Bounty comes here on the back of a win over the course and distance and a 5lb rise in the weights may not be enough to stop him going in again. His success seemed to coincide with softer ground (and a tongue-tie on for the first time) so the assumption is that rain will suit, and with the tongue-tie on again he is fancied to oblige. Trumpstoo's best run came in a bog at Newcastle last year and he is yet to get his ground this year, Heading East has so far disappointed, whilst Toby Tyler, a course winner, is back to a winning mark. Battle Royal is unexposed and he has three maiden runs now under his belt; his fifth to Cloudy Start reads the best and he may not be overburdened with a mark of 63 today. Similar comments apply to handicap debutant Brockfield so watch the market there, whilst Flying Silks seemed to improve for the longer trip last time which is no real surprise for this son of Barathea. An open race, but recent winner Play It Sam can win again.
