Verdict

Raised 6lbs for a narrow success at Kempton Park last month, Seel Of Approval is taken to follow up off his new mark at the main expense of the hat-trick seeking Grey Cossack and the consistent Fayr Jag. The selection is open to further improvement after just two starts this term and deserved his latest win after an encouraging return to action behind the progressive Fire Up The Band at Ascot. With ground conditions to suit, and a favourable draw in stall five to help, he holds solid claims. Grey Cossack has secured narrow victories at Beverley and Doncaster in his last two starts and is entitled to be thereabouts but this represents a stiffer assignment. Fayr Jag has finished in the frame in his last two starts and should not be discounted but seems plenty high enough in the weights at present. Loyal Tycoon suggest that his turn would not be far away when chasing home Banjo Bay at Goodwood recently and is another to consider although a high draw is a concern as it is for Simianna and a bigger threat to the selection may come from Now Look Here. Bryan McMahon's gelding was collared close home by Indian Spark at Haydock last month but a doubt remains concerning his effectiveness on a faster surface.
