Verdict

Winning Irish bumper Ebony Diamond attracted strong support in a Huntingdon handicap in August but ran very poorly and has yet to show any sign of form over hurdles while Apache Dawn has now gone 30 starts over timber without winning. Highland River scored over 2m4f at Towcester before a fine effort over further at Wincanton on Thursday but this could prove too short. Hawk Gold has been doing better and is on a fair mark while Lombok will have his supporters again despite running moderately when fancied at Towcester. BRUNTON BLUE didn't run for over three years after her debut on the Flat in 2007 and needed her opening runs over timber but she produced a much better run on her handicap debut at Uttoxeter last month and this looks within her capabilities.
