In depth

Verdict

Carrick Dhub, General Ledger and Solway Bee are three against the field in a competitive opener and the narrow vote is given to Carrick Dhub. The selection was a fair fourth behind Killyglen last time out looks sure to appreciate this faster ground and in an open race he looks a value bet. General Ledger rates the main danger on his best form but he was a disappointing odds on shot behind Charlie Crab last time. However the drop in trip looks sure to suit and with his yard in form he should be watched in the market. Solway Bee is another that could go well on his latest third behind Wise Choice but he barley sees out the trip and is opposed with this in mind. Culcavy has ran with promise in the past and could improve for the fitting of a first time tongue tie. Thunderwing was noted staying on well behind Realism last time so should improve for the step up in trip but for the winner we are happy to return to Carrick Dhub.
