Verdict

Dual Ffos Las winner Sir Johnson puts his unbeaten record on the line but has to concede upwards of 10lb to his rivals, which may prove tough. FOG PATCHES was given a positive ride on his debut under Rules at Ayr in March but weakened in the closing stages as lack of condition told. The fact that Peter Buchanan prefers him here to Kelso runner-up Lucia Bay suggests he'll last out in front a bit longer today and he gets the nod, though this is a race in which the market should be watched closely. Sun Cloud never threatened on his debut at Market Rasen in July but will strip fitter here and has place prospects as does newcomer Peg Leg, who has a stamina-packed pedigree. Bella Venezia may be the pick of the remainder.
