    Verdict

Peter Bowen has a tremendous strike rate at this venue over the past five years and has done well to bring CYGNET back to form after a fallow period of form. Much improved the last twice, the Dansili gelding seems sure to give another good account for the Welsh handler now back on a seemingly even keel. This looks a slightly easier affair than the Ffos Las handicap in which he finished third behind Masterofdeception and Sean Bowen has started to look good value for his claim. Nicky Richards is ticking over nicely with a select band of runners and Winter Alchemy can have a say having gained his sole success over timber over course and distance. Solway Sam, a recent course and distance winner too, put a pulled up effort well behind him when scoring at the track that day and could still be interesting off a 5lb higher mark, although that was a first career success in over four years.
