In depth

Verdict

A small but select field for this class four handicap and Gavroche looks the best option ahead of Bravemore and Freak Occurrence. The selection has to shoulder ten stones but did put in an eye-catching performance last time when chasing home Lucayan Dancer. He missed a beat at the start of that Chester event, came from off the pace and did some sterling work late on to be nearest at the finish. With a level start today he will be hard to beat. Bravemore finished just a neck behind the selection in that contest and is entitled to be thereabouts again on similar weights. Meanwhile Freak Occurrence has to be a threat to all on his easy victory over Master Mahogany at Bath recently. In a wide open affair Mr Tambourine Man and Arabie can also be given a squeak, but with a little luck in running Gavroche should collect first prize.
