In depth

Verdict

ROYAL EXCHANGE will be a very warm order for this contest despite some interesting newcomers; chief amongst them are Excelebration, Roayh and Fleet Captain. Richard Hannon has a strong team of juveniles and this son of Royal Applause may well be fairly high up the pecking order judged by his debut display at Newbury. He only went down in a photo to the well regarded Klammer who won a warm little race at Newmarket on Saturday whilst the fourth won a well contested maiden at Newbury the day before. Roayh is a 220,000 US dollar purchase and one of the first juveniles to come out from the yard this season; the market may well be informative although it's worth noting that Saeed Bin Suroor does have an excellent strike rate with his youngsters at this venue. Fleet Captain was a cheaper buy but is related to a juvenile winner unlike Mull Of Killough's half-brother Excelebration for whom Kieren Fallon is a notable booking but it's difficult to look beyond Royal Exchange.
