Verdict

With entries in a number of this season's major sales races, Charming Thought is a fascinating debutant from the Godolphin team but FLASH FIRE has already performed with credit in two maidens and he is taken to gain due reward for his consistency. Mark Johnston's colt was third in a hot contest at Ascot and didn't do a great deal wrong when pipped close home at Pontefract. Richard Fahey has saddled a couple of juvenile winners at Nottingham this term so any market confidence behind Bamboccianti should not be ignored. His pedigree suggests that he will be better over further in time, though having realised a cool 270,000gns at the sales, connections will be keen to recoup some of their investment. Giannizzero has previous racecourse experience and while running green on an earlier visit to Colwick Park, he appears capable of going close.
