Barricado is selected over Glorious Gift and Trenchant, while Blow Hole, who has numerous entries this week, is an interesting debutante and is worth noting in the betting. He tries a mile for the first time but can be expected to be a player in this company. However, the vote goes to Barricado, who coped well with cut in the ground on his debut at Leicester last October. A mile will suit the Roger Charlton-trained colt and he is taken to represent the best value for a punt in a race where his proven ability to act on the ground is taken as the major factor.
