Verdict

COVERT DESIRE was a shade unlucky not to score over this trip at Newcastle in June. He had a hard race that day but Mahmood Al Zarooni has given the colt plenty of time to recover and Frankie's presence in the saddle today suggests he's rated a better prospect than stablemate Montefeltro, who dead-heated for third on his debut at Pontefract. Eshtibaak could be the danger as he ran well when fifth in a hot maiden at Newbury in April, while Moon Over Water will be all the better for her third at Wolverhampton last month. Baraaya has her first start since finishing fourth on her racecourse debut at Newmarket in July last year, however, while Shieldmaiden needs to improve on what she's shown so far to figure. Millennium Star may be the pick of the remainder.
