Verdict

MUSADDAS, placed three times in four starts as a three-year-old, wintered in Dubai and ran well in a couple of handicaps on the Tapeta at Meydan at the start of the year. Connections clearly think there are races to be won with the gelding and Saeed bin Suroor's charge is fancied to see off the younger Lacan, who has only found one too good in a couple of course and distance runs. The form of both races is working out well and gives him the beating of Pontefract third Express Himself. Ripon second Gang Warfare may do better in handicaps but any market interest in newcomer Patterned would have to be taken seriously.
