Verdict

Mel Brittain has snapped up Paul Hanagan for COTTAM DONNY and the move can pay off. Still a maiden, he found Beverley's 7f too sharp when beaten by Al Muheer on Monday but this is much more like his trip and he looks capable of winning from this mark. Tilsworth Glenboy has gained both career victories on this track with plenty of give in the ground and could hardly have been more impressive at the beginning of the month. A 6lb penalty shouldn't prevent another big run and he must be on the short-list. New trainer Daniel Kubler is already on the scoresheet and the booking of Mikael Barzalona for the lightly-raced Cobbs Quay catches the eye but Sir Henry Cecil's Searing Heat has shown nothing so far. Resplendent Alpha is in fine shape at present and though definitely better on the all-weather he's quite well treated back on Turf. My Mate Jake likes the soft ground and Paul Mulrennan has been successful on him in the past.
