Verdict

First Blade's only win on turf came in heavy ground, while Newcastle winner Arch Walker couldn't follow-up at Hamilton last time despite racing off the same mark. FLYING APPLAUSE was winning for the third time here when scoring over C&D last week. He ran out a four length winner on that occasion and is taken to defy a penalty and follow-up. Half A Crown won at Ayr when last seen at the track but that was in 2009, while Ffos Las maiden winner Delaware Dancer hasn't raced since November. Exceedingly Good and Pineapple Pete have both been placed here recently and could prove best of the rest.
