Verdict

Mick Easterby is (historically) a very profitable trainer to follow when he has one well handicapped. And BLUE SPINNAKER certainly fits the bill and is preferred ahead of Royal Straight, Xpres Maite and Inspirina. The last named is on a handy mark and, with Richard Hughes booked for the ride, is not without a chance at this level. Xpres Maite is reunited with Philip Makin for the first time in a long while and it would be no surprise to see the old partnership nick a place in the frame at a fair price. Royal Straight made a very encouraging start for his new yard at Doncaster and it will be interesting to see how he is campaigned from now on. However, Blue Spinnaker is still incredibly well treated despite picking up a 6lb penalty for winning at Doncaster 10 days ago and is very hard to overlook now he has rediscovered winning ways.
