      Verdict

      VELOCE beat Hallstatt by a nose back in March and repeated the dose at Haydock on Friday when running out a more emphatic winner. Ian Williams' charge looks the one to beat here if recent exertions haven't taken their toll. Dove Cottage won his first race since 2009 when just holding on for victory at Folkestone in April but is not certain to reproduce that effort and Holden Eagle has yet to score in 15 starts on Turf. Multiple all-weather winner Kingaroo has gone even longer without a win on this surface and Warne's Way arrives badly out of sorts.
