Withdrawn

In depth

Verdict

The in-form Rebellious Spirit is fancied to land the five-timer, while Red Wine and Nutkin are others that will be waiting in the wings if top weight proves a step beyond the selection. Nutkin is unexposed and represents a typical profile for a James Fanshawe-trained runner at this stage of the season. Cut in the ground will suit him ideally and bold effort is anticipated. Red Wine has been in great heart lately and, like the selection, he comes here at the top of his game. He could have been better drawn though and needs to be on his mettle. Others to bear in mind include: Trouble Mountain and Gala Sunday, who represent the irrepressible Mick Easterby, while Sforzando is a course and distance winner but would not want too much juice in the ground. Nevertheless, it is hard to crab the recent form of Rebellious Spirit and, as this race is thicker on numbers than it is on quality, Sean Curran¿s charge has a leading chance of making it five in a row in this company.
