Verdict

Habitual trailblazer Inishrush will need to husband his resources effectively to ward off some doughty challengers and CARDIGAN ISLAND could be another one for the Peter Bowen team that regularly is at its best at this time of year. He enjoys a consistent profile in seven starts over the larger obstacles, has a good record on sharp, left-handed tracks and has developed a strong rapport with Dave Crosse who takes the mount once again. Trip and ground are fine too. Both of Persian Run's career successes have come on good ground or better so these conditions should suit well, whilst Qualypso D'Allier is a danger to all as he came right back to form last time and remains dangerously well handicapped. However, that win was over 2m7f on soft ground and he faces very different conditions here.
