In depth

Verdict

Cottingham is preferred to Croix Du Guerre and Silverhay. Any overnight rain should play to the strengths of Cottingham and with Richard Lee's team in good nick at present, his claims appear obvious on the formbook. Croix Du Guerre does not win too often but has been tilted at big prizes in the past. He seems effective on any ground and should run his race. Silverhay has posted his better performances on fast ground and while not completely at home with cut in the ground, does have a degree of ability. Quick can be expected to set the pace with his customary front-running tactics. A fast pace would certainly play into the hands of Investment Wings. La Grande Villez appears to be best of the rest. Cottingham has plenty of ticks in the right boxes and secures the nomination.
