    Verdict

It will be interesting to see if any weekend rain hits Newton Abbot but if it does, PUBLIC ESTEEM should not be unduly inconvenienced and he can see off Mac Halen and Thumbprint. The selection did win a seller last time out but he stays this trip with few issues and appears capable of exhibiting his form under any surface conditions. Mac Halen has had no shortage of seconds and regrettably gives the handicapper very few options as far as dropping him down the handicap is concerned. Thumbprint was entitled to need the run after a sizeable absence and it would be no surprise to see him run well. Alan King has had a couple of wins of late so it would be no surprise to see Anadama giving a good account. Bob Buckler unusually has two in the field. Flag Flier, though exposed as modest, is probably the pick of the pair. Public Esteem is not without a few doubts but were he to return to some of his earlier form lines, he has to be given the chance of taking a hand.
