Verdict

A decent prize has attracted a very good entry for this staying handicap though a number of the intended runners having been chasing lately including On The Bridge, Pure Faith, Sheriff Hutton, Akideau, Well Mett and Lost Legend. The latter looks well particularly treated on his form over the larger obstacles and Maurice Linehan takes off a further 5lb so he has to go on the short-list. Union Saint, Possol and Qulinton should all be pressing for a place but we're inclined to take a chance on the mare CLOUDY SPIRIT. She should relish this marathon trip on the fast ground and has been running well on the Flat this summer. Turned out only three days after running at Goodwood, the grey is only 3lb higher than when second in a Listed handicap at Cheltenham in April.
