In depth

Verdict

Tea In Transvaal got up in the shadows of the post to open her account in a mares' race at Southwell but this looks a tougher task. John Ferguson runs two and there may not be much to choose between the lightly-raced Royal Skies and Mondlicht on these terms. Billy My Boy has made the frame in his last six starts and scored over course and distance in May, though it was soft ground that day. AVEL VOR has proved frustrating and is another who would have preferred easier going but he didn't stay 2m4f at Worcester last time and Ciaran Gethings' claim should aid his cause here - he gets a tentative vote to finally come good.
