ARDENT may be worth another chance. John Gosden's filly was backed off the boards at Pontefract on her handicap bow but she faded tamely into midfield. However this track may suit better and now trying softer ground this daughter of Pivotal may flourish. Vitoria has been placed in Listed company before, Sea Of Leaves is a course and distance winner and she ran well in the Silver Cup last time, whilst Waveband looks capable of winning off this mark of 90 and the booking of Mr Dettori looks a statement of intent. Sooraah is fascinating dropping back to six furlongs for the first time in her career; that might suit this strong-travelling daughter of Dubawi and a bold bid is expected. Ryan Moore needs to galvanise the front-runner Angus Newz after a poor run at Yarmouth, whilst Amitola looks the best of the rest with Jamie Spencer booked for the ride.
