Verdict

Top-notch sprinter HOOF IT can compete on favourable terms but the question is can he run up to his mark over 7f? Three previous attempts earlier in his career suggest he'll struggle, but he's a much-improved, stronger beast these days and Mick Easterby's charge has got the right man on board to ensure he's given every chance of lasting home. He gets the nod just ahead of last year's winner Libranno who bounced back with a Listed success at Salisbury last time while Firebeam also has to come into the reckoning as he had Majestic Myles behind when runner-up to Red Jazz at Haydock last month. Edinburgh Knight has a shout if at his best and makes more appeal than the out of sorts three-year-old Bannock.
