Verdict

It's time for the pin and blindfold as 35 runners line-up for the first leg of the Autumn Double. Last year's winner Educate has 6lb more to carry this time while Bancnuanaheireann, who won the consolation Silver Cambridgeshire in 2013, is 5lb higher. BRONZE ANGEL landed this ultra-competitive handicap as a three-year-old in 2012 and came to win his race at Doncaster two weeks ago. He got outbattled by the eventual winner but still beat Velox, Maverick Wave and Ingleby Angel and can take this with Louis Steward taking off 5lb. Maverick Wave's trainer, John Gosden, also runs Cornrow in this and he's the choice of William Buick. The New Approach colt's winning run came to an end at Ascot last time but he was only beaten a head and the longer trip here is in his favour. Queensberry Rules came back to form when beating Spirit Of The Law at York having met trouble in-running behind Energia Davos at Haydock previously. Tenor has been much improved this year while the handicapper has given Quick Wit a chance on his return to action. Gabrial's Kaka and the progressive Extremity are others to consider in a typically tricky renewal.
