In depth

Verdict

Motaraqeb is bound to be popular with backers on his first start in a handicap but a mark of 85 looks to be plenty high enough for Sir Michael Stoute's colt on the evidence of his Thirsk maiden win, while Music Note has plenty of weight for what he has achieved and preference is for Jumbajukiba. The selection lacks a run this term but has form on the ground, which is hardly surprising given his pedigree and is clearly well treated judged by his run in a Doncaster nursery last term. Provided that he is fit enough, Amanda Perrett's colt may well be good enough to make a winning reappearance. Nottingham winner Harvest Queen could be of interest on his debut in this grade but it looks significant that Eddie Ahern, who rode him at Nottingham, prefers Jumbajukiba. Time For Life has claims on the pick of his form but is more exposed than most of these and preference is for the reappearing Jumbajukiba.
