Verdict

Annapolis is the one they all have to beat here and gets the nod ahead of Anjuna and Tidal Force. This 6f and trip and fast ground will suit the Mark Johnston-trained Annapolis, who followed up a good debut earlier in the month with an improved effort to finish a close third at Pontefract last time. This easier track will help and he sets the standard that they will all try to surpass here. Anjuna has also had two previous outings, and should now be better for this return to 6f. The penny was beginning to drop last time, even though the trip was too short, so he is not totally ruled out. Tidal Force was not knocked about when not up to winning on debut, but the colt will be better for that outing, the bare form of which entitles him to frame claims here. Mymateeric has had a break since a decent effort in a Yarmouth maiden, and improvement from him could see him take home some more prize money. Sicilian Pink looks best watched until handicapping, Mr Redford is the more interesting of the debutants, but Annapolis can win today.
