In depth

Verdict

Sintenis Mac, Sky Quest and Artreju form our short-list for this heat with a chance taken on the former. A note of caution is sounded as he¿s returned a beaten favourite on three occasions and doesn't appear to be straightforwards. On the plus side, he clearly has ability and he ran well on his first attempt at this trip over course and distance last time. He has quicker ground to contend with this afternoon but the company looks a little less taxing and he may be able to gain that elusive success. Sky Quest is an experienced performer who shaped encouragingly on his return to action and is entitled to have come on for the run; this track and trip suit him down to the ground and he can be expected to have a say in the outcome. Flight Dream and Artreju are both capable of better than they showed last time, both are ridden by their trainers' sons and both are worth noting in the market. The former never landed a blow at Nottingham last time but ran well at this trip a couple of runs back whilst the latter, who has generally been disappointing since arriving from Germany, didn't fare too badly on his penultimate start and neither should be dismissed too quickly in a modest contest. A few to consider then with Sintenis Mac the pick.
