      Verdict

The in-form Fabrian gets the nod over El Chaparral and Wild Pitch, although a careful eye should be focused on the activities surrounding Jacaranda when the betting begins in earnest. The last named ran well over course and distance when he was last seen out and will be danger to them all if repeating the effort today. This is his time of year and, having won this off a 3lb lower mark last year, he has to be respected. Wild Pitch is back in trip after winning a classified stakes over a mile and a half last month and is also capable of playing a leading role. El Chaparral is another that comes into the argument on the pick of his efforts. The good to firm ground will not be a problem for him and he could well pose the selection the most problems. However, Fabrian is holding his form well at present and, back over his most appropriate trip, he is expected to be very hard to beat this evening.
