In depth

Verdict

Masta Plasta is the pick over Celtic Mill, with Presto Shinko, Bounty Quest and Vale Of Belvoir seen as other leading candidates. With six winners in the last fortnight, it is evident that Dandy Nicholls has his sprinters in good form, and so hopes are high that Masta Plasta can add to the stable's tally. Winner of the Norfolk Stakes for Howard Johnson two years ago, the son of Mujadil has been out of luck in three starts for his new stable this year, but should now be spot on, and if there is an inkling of his old form in there, Dandy is the man to bring it out. The ground is in his favour at least, and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back to form. Celtic Mill has contested some hot races since returning from Dubai and looks one of the more classier performers on view, while Presto Shinko has also been campaigned at a high level, but has never won over five furlongs in his life. Bounty Quest has a near four-month absence to overcome, and Vale Of Belvoir has been off even longer, but may go well fresh. All in all, going on past form, we shall rely on Masta Plasta to turn back the clock and come good.
